Top 10 Reasons to Visit the Northwoods

Each of us have our own reasons for loving the Minnesota Northwoods. These are some of our favorite reasons to visit the Minnesota Northwoods (in no particular order).

1. Lakes: There are 10 lakes in the immediate area with adjacent resorts. In actuality, there are so many more lakes that visitors have access to throughout the area.
2. Resorts: The Minnesota Northwoods has 14 cabin resorts spread through 3 communities. They are family-friendly, feature a variety of amenities, and are perfect for weekend fishing getaways.
3. Fishing: Our lakes are home to a variety of fish including, but not limited to: Walleye, Northern Pike, and Crappies. Trophies have been known to be caught!
4. Hunting: From waterfowl to big game or small game, hunting in the Minnesota Northwoods and the Chippewa National Forest provides plenty of opportunity.
5. Summer: The water and the woods, need we say more? There are plenty of water sports to test your skill and acres of woods and nature to spend the day exploring.
6. Fall: Have you ever been to the Minnesota Northwoods in the Fall? If so, you probably know what our favorite part is. It’s the fall colors! We are surrounded by beautiful colors.
7. Winter: We are at the center of 14,000 miles of trails for snowmobiling in the winter, but if you don’t have a snowmobile, or it isn’t your cup of tea, there are a number of other outdoor winter activities to keep you busy in the winter in the Minnesota Northwoods.
8. Parks & Forests: There is no shortage of nature in the Minnesota Northwoods. Itasca State Park is less than an hour drive away from most of our resorts, and it is home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River.
9. Entertainment: Even if the weather isn’t what you hoped for, the Northwoods is home to plenty of indoor entertainment options, such as casinos, shopping, theaters, historic sites, and more!
10. Location: We are located throughout and around three beautiful communities: Bemidji, Blackduck, and Cass Lake. They each have unique aspects to help create a one-of-a-kind Minnesota Northwoods experience.
