The Ruffed and Spruce Grouse season in Minnesota runs along with the Hungarian Partridge season from mid-September to the end of the year.
What else do you need to know? Aside from your boots, some blaze orange, and a shotgun, all you need is a valid small game license which you can purchase online here.
As far as where to hunt, there are 11 million acres of public hunting land, 528 designated hunting areas covering nearing 1 million acres, and more than 40 designated ruffed grouse management areas in the state of Minnesota. Up here in the northwoods, we are near the 1.6 million acre Chippewa National Forest that is home to 298 miles of non-motorized trails.
Come to the Minnesota northwoods to get a change of scenery, change of pace, and maybe a bit of luck in the field.
