No Sun, No Problem! Rainy Day Activities in Minnesota Northwoods
Families choose to vacation in the Minnesota Northwoods mainly because of the large variety of outdoor activities: swimming, hiking, fishing, etc. But sometimes the weather just doesn’t cooperate. Fortunately, there’s plenty to do in the Minnesota Northwoods—even when it’s raining cats and dogs! Here’s just a sampling of some of our favorite indoor activities that you can enjoy no matter what the weather.
Stay In
You may find that after days of sun and fun, a quiet day in your cabin is actually a bit of a relief. You may simply want to enjoy the company of family or watch the rain from your screened in porch, if you have one. Or you may want to read a book, play board games or put a puzzle together by the fire. It’s also a great time to catch up on all those letters and postcards you keep meaning to send to loved ones at home. And don’t be afraid to take a nap. After all, you’ve been playing hard!
Explore Your Resort
A rainy day is the perfect day to discover the hidden fun your resort has to offer. Most of the cabin resorts in Minnesota Northwoods have their own lodges where you can find plenty to occupy your time. Enjoy a drink and chat with fellow guests while the kids play in the game room. Shoot some pool. You may even find activities such as karaoke or an impromptu card game going.
