Focus on Fishing

Some fishermen are known to exaggerate their fishing tales, however, people who fish the 60 lakes of the Minnesota Northwoods enjoy the reality of landing trophy fish. Our pristine lakes have not been discovered or over fished by the general public. Though our lakes are most well known for their monster muskies and walleyes, you will also find large northern pike, largemouth bass, jumbo perch, and plenty of panfish for the young fishermen.

It is no secret that the most successful fishing occurs in the spring and fall, however, fishing during the correct times with the correct bait allow people to catch fish year round.

Listed below are some of the larger lakes in the area. Click to view the Minnesota Department of Resource's information on the lake. Please note, this lake information will open in a new window and MinnesotaNorthwoods.com will remain behind.
